3rd February 2010 - Assisted Suicide, Iraq Inquiry, and University Funding

posted 03.02.10 at 6:50pm

This week the panel will be discussing:

Assisted Suicide

Kay Gilderdale has been acquitted of attempted murder having assisted her daughter's suicide. Should the laws be reformed, and was the decision right?

Iraq Inquiry

Tony Blair has given his evidence to the Iraq Inquiry, and has been heavily criticised by Clare Short for his handling of the war. What effect will the inquiry have, and how much of an impact will their evidence have?

University Funding

The government has announced it is cutting university funding in-line with measures to reduce the public debt. The universities have responded that they will have to reduce the number of places. Should universities have to cope with reduced funding?
