Sabryna, a transfer student from Oregan in the US, here at Nottingham University, stops by the studios for a session with DJ Em on the urban music show, Sundays from 9pm.
A painter, dancer and an art major and clearly a female with a good singing voice...What do you think? Listen and comment away..

Being isolated on cpamus with little access to TV, I don't hear about the Royal Wedding at all. Maybe I should be glad? I do feel a little uninformed when I read people's blogs.Simply Precious is correct. You do do a lot of work! Then again, you're probably making pretty good money for it, so if you can handle it without destroying the other parts of your life, why not? Those photos are lovely. I personally like the picture of the cracked ground too, but as a photograph, it does seem a bit ugly. I'd like to see you make it into a texture the retouching required to do that should take away most of the boring. So I was browsing through the pages of your site and realized that it was a site that I had browsed through and enjoyed for a bit when I was in high school. Funny that I'd run into it again years later!

2 postings that local students and others will find interesting1) From NCAFC Facebook groupTuesday, November 30 · 11:00am – 2:00pmLocation EverywhereThe National Campaign Against Fees and CutsWE NEED TO CONTINUE THE CAMPAIGN – KEEP UP THE PRESSURE – TAKE ACTION ON TUESDAY 30th NOVEMBER!The National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts and a general assembly of London students have issued a call for further action on the 30th of November. We can’t let our campaign end with the walkouts on the 24th – we need to keep the action coming! On the 30th of November, take whatever action you can – either a walkout, a protest after college, a banner drop, an occupation, a protest during school… whatever it is, take action!***WE NEED TO ORGANISE!In every college and every campus where action takes place, an ongoing organisation needs to be formed. A committee of mobilised students (whatever it calls itself) should meet every week (or more frequently) and democratically decide how to take the campaign forward. Where possible they should organise mass meetings in the college/uni to make decisions about the campaign. Set up a blog or a facebook group for your local and link it to . Try to pull off actions regularly, even if they are only small.Every college should:⢠not make cuts⢠open the books â come clean about management salaries⢠not waste money on consultantsEvery city should have a city-wide general assembly every week that brings together representatives of all the different college anti-cuts campaigns. These city-wide assemblies should make decisions about joint actions. They should be run democratically â the chair should rotate and the meeting should not be the âpropertyâ of any one group or faction. Everyone should respect the decisions that get made collectively.***Send a report of whatever action you take to the National Campaign at (also email us if you need help or more information). Include pictures if possible! Here are some ideas:* After school, rally in front of your local town hall/Lib Dem/Tory Party HQ and demonstrate* Stage an occupation in your university (if one is not already going on)* Drop a large banner from a tall building in your school or college* Hold a protest at school/college/on campus; make some noise; hand out leaflets; march through the school* Walk out***AND REMEMBER – WHATEVER YOU DO, LINK UP WITH LOCAL TRADE UNIONS AND OTHER COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES!2) Demands of one of the occupations taking place (UCL)They have collectively drawn up a list of certain demands to be placedon UCL management, calling on them to * Issue a statement condemning all cuts to higher education and the rise in tuition fees * Implement a complete ‘open books’ policy with regards to existing budget constraints * Ensure no redundancies for teaching, research or support staff * Reverse its outsourcing policy by bringing staff back in-house * Implement the full living wage package for all cleaning, catering and security staff with no cuts to hours and jobs * Ensure no victimisation or repercussions for anyone participating in the occupation * Allow free access in and out of the occupation.

Is there a writeup of the meeting anywhere? Was the Claimant’s Union represented? Was the room booked rather than occupied? I’m curious about how far beyond University of Nottingham staff & students the discussion/attendance spread and would love any more information.Notts CutWatch:“The statistics suggest the University of Nottingham will have 48 per cent, some £45 million, cut from its central teaching grant, while Nottingham Trent could have 86 per cent â some £67 million â of its teaching grant slashed.”I don’t really follow the logic of staging follow-up action on the isolated campus again, largely invisible to the wider groups at risk under the circumstances of cuts & service losses (practically everyone) when the fees issue can be brought under the NOTTS SOS non-sectatrian umbrella. A point: the flier doesn’t acknowledge that ‘The’ university is actually only one of two, and the one in possibly a slightly less precarious position (the flier reads as if it is only aimed at student of UoN, & so lacks a tone of unity). Was there co-ordination with local schools? From outside the organising groups, Nottingham looks at risk of punching way below its weight in the maintained campaign nationally. There’s a risk of worsening alienation using the UoN campus as a venue, it looks (& I think the worth of focus on ‘the Left’ is very debatable). Sorry to be critical, it probably reads more negative than intended – I think the fact it was carried off and that plans are being made is really great, and the 20th was excellent.P.s. Are there any local facebook or blog pages for the 30th?
