Malaysian Games, Zlatan, and Gerrard vs Scholes

In this Thursday's episode of the Sport Show the team were joined by Sarveen Kumaran, Sport Secretary of the UoN Malaysian Society and Director of the Malaysian Games. Sarveen spoke about what the annual Games were all about, the sports and cultural activities on offer, and how this year's games (which took place last weekend) went. We also spoke about the general sport scene in Malaysia, where hockey and squash are extremely popular.

The Saturday Sport Show saw Gaffers, Simon, Luke, Chris and Andy discuss this weekends sporting action. During the show, the big East Midlands derby between Nottingham and Leicester was taking place. We then moved on to talk about the ATP tennis taking place in London and Andy Murray's chances. Also the legend that Roger Federer is disscused and his longevity in the sport. Next up, a discussion about the rugby autumn internation with Ireland playing South Africa this weekend.

This Thursday's episode of the Sport Show saw Jack, Dave, Barney and Rob welcome the Ultimate Frisbee team into the studio to catch up with them about how their season has been developing. Naturally, the Ultimate players had to face the Sport Show Quiz, and in an incredible coup they became the first ever guests to beat the URN Sport Team!

This Saturday Gaffers, Justin, Patrick, Simon and James broke into an action-packed weekend of sport with their predictions for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Louis Hamilton has been unexpectedly dominant, and the two-horse race for the Drivers Championship between Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso has shifted further in the young German's favour. We also discussed how England's preparations were going for their imminent tour of India, focusing in particular on the return of the prodigal Kevin Pietersen.

Next up, we congratulated Lionel Messi and family on the birth of his first child, Thiago Messi, and couldn't help but wonder what potential footballing talent the little lad might possess! We went on to speculate on the potential of other footballing youngsters like Benjamin Aguero (son of Sergio and grandson of Maradona), Kai Rooney, and the Beckham clan. We then moved on to discuss a rather more sobering topic - the controversy surrounding Chelsea Football Club's accusations of racism against Referee Mark Clattenburg, and the consequences this would have for English Football.
