Yes, and there is a certain lack of leafy trees and buhess . But at Osgoode, you do have Ozzie's Pizza Sub and O So Good Fire-It-Up BBQ, or visit the public library, the True Value hardware, the Youth Association, or cycle on to the Red Dot Cafe or the Riverbend Pub Dining Lounge.Perhaps some signage for these should be put at the Osgoode entrance to the trail? Councillor?

no to a sexual encounter, actually means no.There’s a similar assumption behind the demand of “modesty” in women’s dress in many conservative societies, such as those in much of the Muslim world — that men cannot control themselves in the face of a woman with visible secondary sexual characteristics, and that all men are basically rapists being held back by the rules of religion, law, and dress codes. And, unfortunately, in some such places both women and men internalize that message.Read Aayan Hirsi Ali’s “Nomad”: she is astonished when she reaches Germany, after having grown up in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and other conservative Muslim areas. Because women are walking around in the northern European sunshine wearing shorts and T-shirts, with their hair uncovered, and they’re not being leered at and groped by men at every opportunity! They’re not being grabbed and raped in alleyways left and right! Men, in fact, can converse with them as regular people, share streets and building and vehicles and schools with them, and despite how women dress, those men aren’t driven into a sexual frenzy! Also, I remember a university classmate of mine in the early ’90s. She was a Canadian who had spent quite a while working in Saudi Arabia, dressing in long gowns and covering her hair in public. She went once to buy a bra, at a store run by a man (of course). Despite her flowy clothing, he was able to guess her bra size just by eyeing her breasts through her clothing. It is true that men check women out — but it is true that they’ll figure out ways to do so, no matter how “obscured” women are according to custom. The “she was asking for it” argument is ridiculous by all standards, and any authority figures applying it are well out of date in doing so.
